Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 1, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to mevent.io ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our marketing site, organizer dashboard, or participant portals for Mevent event communities ("Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Organizer account details: When you create an organizer account or sign in with email, Google, or LinkedIn, we collect your email address, name, profile image (if supplied by the provider), and authentication identifiers to manage access.

Event setup and participant profiles: We store event configuration (titles, descriptions, profile schemas, signup settings) and the onboarding responses participants submit (custom fields, social links, photos, approvals, and status updates).

Connections and messaging: Connection requests, approvals or declines, direct messages, broadcasts, and read states inside each event community are stored so the experience works as intended.

Billing and subscriptions: If you choose a paid plan, we keep billing contact details and subscription status (Stripe customer, subscription, and price identifiers). Stripe processes payment instruments on our behalf; we do not store full card numbers.

Usage and device data: We automatically collect certain data about your use of the Services (e.g., IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring URLs, access times, and activity logs) to secure and improve the platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to provide and secure your account; create and manage events; run onboarding, approvals, directories, and messaging; send transactional communications (such as approvals, invitations, reminders, and follow-ups); personalize organizer controls and participant prompts; provide customer support; and manage billing where applicable.

4. How We Share Your Information

Within an event community: Event organizers can view the information you submit for their event. Approved participants may see the profile fields the organizer chooses to show in the directory and connection workflows. Messages are visible to the people in that conversation, and broadcasts are visible to event members.

Service providers: We use trusted vendors such as Supabase (authentication and data storage), hosting and infrastructure partners, email delivery services, and analytics or performance tools as needed to operate the Services. They receive only the information necessary to perform their functions for us.

Payments: Stripe processes subscriptions and payments. Stripe receives billing details needed to complete the transaction; we never store full card numbers.

Legal compliance and protection: We may disclose your information to comply with laws and regulations, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect our rights, property, or users.

Business transactions: We may share or transfer your information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our business.

5. Data Retention

We retain account, event, and participant information while your account is active or an event remains live, and longer if needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Organizers may request deletion of an event, and participants may request removal from an event; some logs may persist in backups for a limited period.

6. Security

We implement commercially reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including authentication via Supabase, role-based access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS), and monitored infrastructure. No security measures are 100% foolproof, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove such data.

8. International Data Transfers

Your personal information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, or country. If you are located outside of Switzerland, please note that we may transfer and process your data in Switzerland and other locations where we or our providers operate.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Participants can update profile fields in the app subject to organizer configuration, and organizers can manage their events directly. To exercise privacy rights, please contact us at [email protected].

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Services after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
